Marin County Free Library System

Their online system offers: Books (digital and hard copy), movies, magazines, music, and is very simple to use. All you need is a library card, a computer or smart phone loaded with the Marin County Free Library App. There are 20 libraries in the system including the Dominican University and College of Marin libraries. I typically use my smart phone app to search for the book I am interested in, put a hold on it, and ask to pick it up at the Dominican University Library which is a 5 minute walk from my home. I receive an email when the book arrives. When finished I can return it to the Dominican or any of the other Marin libraries. To date, I have found every book I’ve been interested in, including recently published books. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend that you give it a try. It’s very satisfying and after all it’s FREE! Andrew Carnegie who is considered by many to be the father of the US library system and donated significant amounts of money to this cause (including $25,000 to the San Rafael Public Library) had this to say about libraries:
